QuadView
Open a .quad file on your phone
QuadView opens QuadToneRIP .quad curve files on iPhone and iPad
and plots every ink channel on a single graph. There has never been a way to
look at a quad curve without a Mac in front of you. Now there is, and it is
free.
Free · iOS and iPadOS
What it does
- Opens .quad curve files on iPhone and iPad
- Plots every ink channel on a single graph
- Reads files from Files, Mail, Messages, or anywhere iOS can share from
- Built in SwiftUI, and free
Why it exists
It started as a tool for answering support questions. Someone sends a curve that is not behaving, and the useful first question is nearly always the same — what does it actually look like? Answering that used to mean waiting until I was back at the computer.
It turned out to be worth having generally. If you are at the darkroom sink, or in a workshop, or looking at a curve someone posted, a phone is usually what is in your hand.
Making the curves
QuadView only reads files — it does not build or edit them. Curves are made with the QuadToneProfiler applications on macOS, or by any other tool that writes QuadToneRIP curves.
